I’m delighted to welcome María del Carmen Ordóñez López as GINN’s Legal Advisor. María del Carmen brings more than two decades of strategic legal, compliance and governance experience across multinational corporations, start-ups and specialist advisory roles, and will be a pivotal voice in shaping our legal and regulatory work on novel nicotine policy and harm-reduction strategies.
Her career spans senior executive roles at Philip Morris International — including Vice President Legal for Latin America & Canada, Assistant General Counsel for the EU, and Global Vice President of Compliance — where she led cross‑regional teams, managed complex regulatory and commercial disputes, and built global compliance architectures across dozens of jurisdictions. She has acted in high‑stakes international fora, advised on taxation and regulatory policy, and contributed to investor–state arbitration under ICSID. María del Carmen is fully bilingual, holds three Master’s degrees, a Diploma in Corporate Governance, compliance and privacy certifications, is a certified mediator, and is an experienced lecturer and published author on regulation, governance and human rights.
Beyond corporate practice, María del Carmen is an entrepreneurial adviser — founder of Sed Nove Consulting, former Managing Director Europe for ANDS, and Chief Legal, Compliance & Corporate Affairs Officer at One Hundred Group Ltd — where she blends legal rigour with operational strategy and governance by design. At GINN she will strengthen our legal framework, advance our regulatory engagement, and help translate complex policy into pragmatic, responsible action.
We are excited to have María del Carmen to GINN on board and look forward to the impact her leadership will bring.
